Pakistan School of Fashion Design (PSFD) is located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

Fashion design deal inked with France

Pakistan and the French Federation for Ready to Wear Women Garments (FFPAPF) have decided to formalize cooperation and collaboration for exchange of knowledge and skills and promotion of business between French and Pakistani garment industries.

An agreement in this connection was signed by Commerce Secretary Syed Asif Shah and federation chairman Jean-Pierre Mocho in Paris on the 9th of February 2006 at the residence of Pakistan’s Ambassador, Mr Aneesuddin Ahmed

The agreement, initiated one year ago during the visit of Jean-Pierre Mocho in Expo Pakistan, envisages a programme for development of the Pakistan School of Fashion Design (PSFD) into a modern international fashion marketing institute, which could support and prepare Pakistan’s garments industry for the international market. It also creates links between the Pakistan and French garment industries for exchange of information, awareness raising, delegations, seminars etc.

This agreement follows the convention signed in august 2005 by Mod’Spe (the French Institute of Fashion Design created in 1993 by the professional organizations affiliated to FFPAPF and with the support of French Government) and the PSFD in order to implement a programme (including audit of Pakistan industry, definition of a curriculum adapted to Pakistan’s needs, teachers recruitment and training, students selection) through which Mod’Spe will provide marketing and merchandizing skills to the graduates of the PSFD.

Since its founding in January 1995, PSDF is affiliated with “La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne” which through it schools, is involved in the curriculum definition and the examinations supervision, and helps to keep the local and International industry requirements in mind.

PSFD is the first institution that offers graduates training in fashion design, in Pakistan. It is benefiting, through this affiliation, from training of teachers in Paris, periodic study visits and technical assistance.
