[edit] Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Come posso condividere la stessa user page, preferences, etc. fra en.wikipedia e it.wikipedia ?

Una curiosità: attraverso quale via sei arrivato alla mia userpage?
(non ho ancora capito qual è la convenzione per le discussioni sulle User talk pages: bisogna rispondere sulla pagina dell'altro user, o la discussione viene mantenuta nella stessa pagina su cui è iniziata ?). Comunque, appena ho scoperto i template linguistici sono andato per curiosità a vedermi quali erano gli user di madrelingua italiana su en.wikipedia: non sono tanti. Mi ha incuriosito il fatto che tu fossi segnato due volte, e dalla tua user page ho capito che sei una specie di wiki hacker, e quindi ho chiesto a te.
comunque, dato che mi capita talvolta di tradurre articoli da en a it, è (leggermente) scocciante doversi loggare prima su en, poi su it, mi chiedevo se ci fosse il modo di avere un utente unico. [edit] Dijkstra and running time notation

Hello, I noticed your interesting edits on Dijkstra's algorithm. Please keep in mind that, in usual notation, V is a set of vertices and E is a set of edges; therefore, the O-notation cannot be written the way you are suggesting. For example, O( V2 ) has no particular meaning since V is a set. We usually either define two variables, m and n, to measure the size of our graph:

m = |V| n = |E|

However, it is sometimes handy to present asymptotic running-time notation in terms of h(|V|, |E|)-type functions. For example, the running time for Dijkstra using Fibonacci heaps would be O(|E| + |V|lg|V|). I have modified the article using this notation.

I would suggest creating a new field for the Film Infobox for IMDb ratings. Caption should only be used to describe the image. --TheFarix (Talk) 11:33, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I believe that there is already a ratings field in Infobox Film, but that is for the MPAA or similar rating. A separate imdb_rating field will need to be added to the Infobox template. --TheFarix (Talk) 20:36, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and corrected the bad link to Category:Events in the template. What you had done was create an external link to the category, rather than an internal link. Also remember, that if you want a link to a category and don't want the page to be added to the category, use a " : " (colon) before the category. e.g. [[:Category:CATEGORY NAME]]. --May the Force be with you!
