Talk:Paintball strategy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hey guys, if you don't know what you're talking about, please don't put it in the article as fact. This is a very poorly written article and whoever wrote it needs to be slapped. --65.96.92.228 23:05, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- You would do well to stick to Wikipedia policy by editing the article instead of attacking other users and complaining. The article's still mess, yes, but you've changed two sentences so far. Edit what you want changed or make some useful suggestions. - Toastydeath 23:31, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

The Paintball WikiProject has been created. Please take a moment to visit its page, and join if you are interested. Thanks! ~ Maximilli, 19:05, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
This article isn't very polished for a number of reasons. Simply reading it through on the Edit page and making small edits as one goes should fix it. Additionally, the so-called snap-shooting image doesn't seem to be illustrating snap shooting. I think this is one of the things that would best be illustrated by a video clip. ~ Maximilli, 14:44, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bias: Woodsball
This page is seriously biased against woodsball, it is heavily slanted towards speedballers in many areas, and in some areas it assumes that the 'Skilled players' of Speedball are much more qualified to play in the woods. Which is completely wrong.
"Woods players are not accustomed to the heavy fire speedball brings"
Is completely wrong, Woodsballers use heavier weapons than Speedballers do, such as the Special Ops Paintball Double Trouble Tippmann A5's, which is 2 guns running at 15 BPS at stock settup, and it has been seen going higher with the additions of much better equipment.
EDIT: Not to mention the formidable 'Trion', which is a set of 3 Ion Markers, linked together at 15 bps or more, capable of cranking out 45BPS with stock setups.
"These tactics can give speedball players a fairly poor reputation amongst woods players, who enjoy a longer game."
Speedballers are recognized as having their place in woodsball, the only time a Speedballer gains a poor reputation is when they consider themselves 'above' their camo clad comrades.
The ambush element is completely glossed over, the fact that superior camo is essential is left out
"...edge of the field on one side and some other other linear obstruction on the other. This minimizes the risk of experienced woods players using camouflage against them..."
Anyone who knew anything about Woodsball tactics would know this as 'Running the Tape', and it is an extremely common tactic for Woodsball teams to practice, slowly creeping up one side of the field. In my experience, those attempting to run the tape up into enemy territory get eliminated extremely quickly by "the walking bush".

- I agree, this article does need work on its woodsball/speedball references. One question, though...did you learn your woodsball strategy from SpecOPS? Totally fine if you did. You just sound like you got most of that from SpecOPS. ~ Maximilli, 15:00, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Paintball strategy - hardly.
This article claims to be about paintball strategy. I see an article filled to the brim with tactics and general how-to-play guidelines. This article isn't about strategy at all. In my opinion, I don't think a page entitled 'Paintball strategy' should actually exist in the first place; even if it does exist, it should basically be a link page leading off to Woodsball strategy and Speedball strategy and all that. If we want an overview about playing paintball, I think we should find a different name.
And if there are those who maintain that this article is about strategy, then compare this article to Woodsball strategy, which really is about strategy. ~ Maximilli, 14:57, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
