Talk:Paid in Full (album)

whoah! could this article possibly be any more biased??? I don't think so. --LeakeyJee 03:42, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
your user profile talks about 'the red hot chili peppers' and 'rage against the machine' i don't know any more about you, but hardly seem qualified to comment on golden-age hip hop. Most anyone who follows old school hip hop agree with much of this article.
Paid in Full is an undisputed hip hop classic album, and is considered by hip hop heads as one of, if not THE greatest hip hop album ever made. I am puzzled as to why you would think this article is biased. The only other album that would rival Paid in Full would be probably Illmatic (which, by the way, has a full page dedicated to it). Nearly every devoted hip hop music listener would place Paid in Full at least in the top five. I don't really see a huge POV issue here, and I don't disagree with any part of the article. In fact, I think the article is rather modest. No offense, but by your reaction, you must not know a lot about hip hop music. Please correct me if I'm wrong. --Uiyoltan 21:34, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok first up, ones musical taste does not determine ones ability to determine if an article is biased or not. The statement "Paid in Full has become the benchmark hip-hop record which, to this day, remains unsurpassed. The lyrical quality is looked upon as legendary and untouchable...." is clearly biased, no matter how many people believe this to be the case. You may well belive it is "THE greatest hip hop album ever made" but this doesn't mean it is. I'm sure at the time many music critics and the public alike heard this album and HATED it because rap was such a new genre, but there is no mention of this in the article. I'm sure many people belive that old school hip-hop sucks, and that 50 cent's "Get rich and die trying" is the greatest hip-hop album of all time. The album may well have re-defined the hip-hop genre, but to say that its quality remains unsurpassed is a completely subjective opinion, and because this violates wikipedia's policy on NPOV this article needs a reworking. --LeakeyJee 04:48, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
A quick scan of the internet found at least two other sites that don't agree that this album has been unsurpassed: [1], [2] --LeakeyJee 04:54, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok, you made a couple of good points that I overlooked in the article. However, while not necessarily being the greatest, it is definitely one of the most influential (hard to argue with that). Anyhow, this article really needs more attention. --Uiyoltan 02:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ColdCut
Surely the Coldcut remix of "Paid in Full" should be mentioned?
bah. maybe under like another section called remixes or in culture. "Surely" though...come on man, mention it on their page or something... how about i remix it, should i mention it? btw. why is hit em up listed as a sample, that's retarded and i'm taking it off along with coldcut.

[edit] Cleanup
This article could use a large cleanup of information. It also need many more sources. Those who re-write it should base it on the articles for Illmatic or Enta Da Stage
