  • In Italian, "paisan" or paesan is an alternative spelling for the word paesano = "fellow countryperson" or "homeboy." Exact meanings can vary in different countries:
    • In the American southwest, a Paisa refers to someone from rural Mexico
    • Paisa is someone from the Paisa Region, a cultural region in Colombia.
