Painted Apple Moth (Teia anartoides) is the name of a moth that has great potential to cause extensive damage to environments it is introduced to. In New Zealand an outbreak of the moth was identified in Auckland. It took the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry several years to eliminate the pest.
