Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte

Padre Burgos is a 5th class municipality in the province of Southern Leyte, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 8,926 people in 1,672 households.
Padre Burgos is also famous of its white sand beaches like Tangkaan Beach, from where you can sea the island of Limasawa; the Likay-Likay Beach, where you can go fishing and snorkeling; the Canlusay Resort, in which they call it "Small Boracay"; the floating Balsa of Bas.
It has an orphanage called "Kinderhilfe Philippinen", managed and sponsored by Mr. Jürgen Schneidt, a German Citizen.
Padre Burgos is also known for its "budbod" (suman), a sticky rice which is very sweet.
