Padre Alberto

Alberto Cutié (born 1969 in Puerto Rico), better known as Padre Alberto, is a Catholic priest of Cuban descent, whose fame transcended the Catholic faith. He was ordained as a Catholic priest in Miami in 1995. He is the first priest to host secular talk shows on radio and television. He has also published thousands of daily advice columns in Spanish newspapers in the US and Latin America.

Padre Alberto gained much fame with his television debut in 1999 as host of a talk show (also named Padre Alberto). He gained so much popularity that, despite the fact he was in Telemundo and Cristina Saralegui was with Univision, she had an article about him in her magazine, Cristina, la Revista and they continue to appear on television together.

In 2002, Padre Alberto continued with a weekly Talk Show called, "Hablando Claro con el Padre Alberto" (reaching millions of households in Latin America, US, Canada and Spain) for EWTN en español the Global Catholic Network founded by Mother Angelica.

In July 2003 he officiated at Celia Cruz's Miami funeral (Cruz was buried in New Jersey, but she had requested her body to be taken on tour upon her death and Padre Alberto oversaw Miami's ceremony).

Father Albert Cutié also published his first self-help book: REAL LIFE, REAL LOVE (AMA DE VERDAD, VIVE DE VERDAD) in January 2006. It has sold thousands of copies and has been a #1 BESTSELLER in the Spanish-speaking market.

Padre Alberto has often been called Father Oprah, by various publications, such as, NEWSWEEK.

Padre Albert is also the Director of Radio Paz and Radio Peace Catholic 24 hour radio stations. Where he host his shows Al Dia and Linea Directa in the spanish station , and Angelus Morning Prayer and Invocation of the Holy Spirit on the english station.
