Paddy Tunney is a much-respected and well-educated man, residing in County Donegal, Ireland. He was responsible for, on two consecutive years (2005 and 2006), bringing the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann to Letterkenny, County Donegal in Ireland. Paddywaddy also holds the esteemed position of being the chair of Comhaltas Ceolteori Eireann. The Fleadh arrived in August of these years as for the rest of the year Paddy operates as a schoolteacher [1] in a local secondary school, St. Eunan's College.

His students regard him as a "funny man" who "teaches swear words in French".[2] One describes "Paddy t." as a man who "is so hip to groove...he's always up for a pimpin good time." Another describes him as a "brilliant teacher" with a "great sense of humour".
