Paddy Phelan

Paddy Phelan was a famous Irish sportsperson who played hurling for Tullaroan and County Kilkenny in the 1930s. He was named in the right half-back position on the Gaelic Athletic Association's "Hurling Team of the Millennium."

Paddy Phelan won All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medals in all, 1932, 1933, 1935 and in 1939, the so-called "thunder and lightning final". His grand-nephew, D.J. Carey, is also a famous hurler.
