[edit] Origin

Pacto de Sangre was formed around 1996 in Carolina, Puerto Rico under the name of "Plenitud", when Eliezer Robles, who, after two drug overdoses, decided to do something to alert others about the risks of drug use, among other things. A few years later another band appeared with the same name. The band name was then changed to Pacto de Sangre.

In September 2002, the band released their first studio Demo/EP called "Arrepiéntete" with previews of the songs "De Verdad," "Arrepiéntete" and "Holy Ghost," rough releases from the recording sessions of the upcoming album.

With this release, Pacto de Sangre was attracted a following, and opened and co-headlined some major concerts in Puerto Rico, with bands like Rob Rock, Bride, All That I Bleed and Rivera Bomma, among others. In December 2003 their full-length EP called "Alerta" was released, selling thousand copies locally in less than 5 months[citation needed] with no airplay at all, a major feat for a Christian metal band.

By February 2005, Pacto de Sangre made it to #18 on the ACMJ "Loud Charts."[citation needed].

More oportunities came along with the success, and Pacto de Sangre got the opportunity to open for Stryper. They were also invited to co-headline with Metal Blade's Jacob's Dream on tour, but the concert was cancelled at the last minute. The tour has been rescheduled for October 2006.

[edit] Members

Pacto de Sangre was started by Eliezer Robles (director and rhythm guitar), with help of his brothers Mizael (bass/vocals) and Carlos (drums). Félix Guzmán (guitar) was then added to the line up and Luis Vila joined as vocalist. Around the same time as the name change, Héctor "Metaloman" García joined to to replace Luis Vila.

After a few years the Robles brothers left the band for to pursue other musical projects (Mizael joined the international progressive metal band Rivera Bomma and Carlos and Eliezer left to form the local band Martus with former Pacto de Sangre singer Luis Vila). Sama was enlisted to substitute Mizael on bass, Félix "Pitbull" Castro replaced Carlos on drums, Emilio "Millo" Rodríguez replaced Eliezer on guitar and Félix Guzmán became the new director of the band.

After several gigs, Rodríguez and Castro left the band to pursue other projects. They were replaced by Gregory Alvey (lead and rhythm guitars) and Elísamuel "The Reaper" (drums), both formerly from the well respected local band After Omega. A keyboard is then added and Arnaldo "The Kid" (who is also a drummer) joins to complete the current lineup of the band.
