Packeteer

Packeteer (NASDAQ: PKTR), founded in 1996 by Robert Packer and Brett Galloway, is an I.T. company based in Cupertino, California listed on the NASDAQ. Hardware products focus on Application Traffic Management and optimization for wide area networks.[1] They hold 22 patents for various network optimisation methods. [2].

Packeteer is a contributing member of the Apdex Alliance.

Their main product lines are:

  • Packetshaper/Packetseeker (Traffic shaping, analysis, reporting)
  • SkyX (TCP acceleration and compression)
  • iShared (WAFS)

In 2004, Packeteer acquired the company Mentat, integrating their SkyX product into the Packeteer portfolio.
