Pachipenta is a Village and Mandal headquarters, near Salur, in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

Pachipenta is located at 18.28N 83.07E.[2] It has an average elevation of 219 meters (721 feet).

Pachipenta Mandal has a population of 43,995 in 2001. Males consists of 22,144 and females 21,851 of the population. The average literacy rate is 35%, lowest in the entire the district. Male literacy rate is 43% and that of females 26%.
There are 54 revenue villages and 28 panchayats in Pachipenta mandal.

River Vegavathi takes its origin in the nearby hills in Eastern Ghats. It is a tributary to Suvarnamukhi which in turn is a tributary to River Nagavali.
Vegavathi Anicut [3] was constructed across River Vegavathi during 1954-1958. The project is located near Karrivalsa village and utilizes 0.653 TMC of the available water. The Ayacut of 2,664 Acres has been stabilised in Pachipenta and Salur Mandals of Vizianagaram District.
This mandal is famous for Tobacco cultivation.
