The airline was established on 2 January 1996 and started as Pace Airlines after Piedmont Aviation Services was granted Federal Aviation Administration and United States Department of Transportation approval on 26 March 1996 [1].

Pace offers ACMI leases to travel agents and scheduled charters. Pace currently operates flights for Apple Vacations. In the past Pace served the now defunct Hooters Air.[2]
