P Funk All Stars

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The P Funk All Stars are an alternate version of the Parliament Funkadelic, so named because of the various legal issues faced by George Clinton over using the names Parliament and Funkadelic after 1980.

Several key albums were recorded under this moniker, including Urban Dancefloor Guerillas/Hydraulic Funk, Dope Dogs, T.A.P.O.A.F.O.M and the latest album How Late Do U Have 2BB4UR Absent?.

The P Funk also toured for many years under the name P Funk All Stars, during which time the band added many of its current young stars, such as Kendra Foster.

With the legal rights to the names Parliament and Funkadelic now restored, the name P Funk All Stars should be seen to refer to the broad school of musicians, vocalists and other artists associated with George Clinton, and who contribute to the P Funk.
