Hey guys, Im just a fan of many shows and stuff and I thought joining Wikipedia would help me educate people with my Fanboy knowledge of things. P3whitelighter 19:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adoption and welcome

Hi. Due to a variety of reasons (including computer problems), I have been out of touch on Wikipedia for about a week, and probably will remain so for another. I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you, if someone else offers to adopt you first, feel free to accept their offer. Otherwise, we can chat a bit more when I return. Mostly I'd just like to know what kind of things you are interested in and need help in. To tide you over, here is my standard, custom welcome message. Enjoy! --Willscrlt (Talk) 07:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, P3whitelighter, and welcome to Wikipedia!

My name is Will, a.k.a. Willscrlt, one of the many editors here at Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions, and I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links you might find helpful:

The five pillars of Wikipedia   Tutorial   How to edit a page
How to write a great article   Help pages   Manual of Style
Request "adoption" by an experienced editor   Fun stuff...

Some other hints and tips:

  • Since you have created a username, you have the privilege of customizing your own user page, which is here. You can also tell us more about yourself in the new user log.
  • Talk pages, such as yours, which you are viewing now, are the way that Wikipedians communicate and leave messages or feedback for one another. All information placed on a talk page is publicly viewable, permanently archived, and usable by anyone for any purpose. It is a very bad idea to publish secure information or anything you wish to keep private on a talk page, or anywhere else in Wikipedia, because of the openness of the system.
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username and the date.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} here on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Another option is to visit the Wikipedia Boot Camp or the Adopt-a-User center, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any questions you have.

I'm looking forward to seeing your future contributions, P3whitelighter! Willscrlt (Talk) 20:45, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
