P-O-X
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
P-O-X is a handheld electronic game released by Hasbro in 2001. The game includes both single and multiplayer modes and a 30 foot (9 meter) wireless connection range. It is notable for the viral marketing scheme used in its introduction (a pun on the viral roots of the word pox). Hasbro asked kids in Chicago schools who they thought the "coolest" student was. Free copies of the game were distributed to the "cool" kids.[citation needed] Hasbro hoped that this method could create a new fad. P-O-X, however, failed to live up to the press hype.
