P&ID

P&ID is an initialism that could mean:
- Piping and instrumentation diagram - a schematical diagram showing piping, equipment and instrumentation connections within process units in oil refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants, natural gas processing plants, power plants, water treatment and similar plants.
- Process and instrumentation diagram - a family of functional one-line diagrams showing hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) systems like piping, and cable block diagrams.
P & ID = it is basically diagram to depict the process connectivty showing details like control loops( full diagrammatic representation of process plant). each and every point is to be drawn with few specifics like line size, various control devices like different kind of level gauges, flow measuring devices . P & I D is complete map for the plant. each instrument/ equipment has unique symbol for differentiations from others.
