Oysterhaven
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oysterhaven is a sea-inlet on the coast of County Cork, Ireland; it is the inlet immediately to the east of Kinsale harbour. The land bordering the northern and eastern sides of the inlet is also known as Oysterhaven.
During the Siege of Kinsale, the English forces besieging the town brought supplies to their camp (which was located to the north of the town) by ship into Oysterhaven and thence by boat up the creek to Brown's Mills.
These days, Oysterhaven is a peaceful community mainly consisting of retired Irisk folk and large holiday homes belonging to rich people. New developments, including new hotels, has caused some to fear that it will take from the areas natural beauty.
