- Oyama, British Columbia, a small town located in the municipality of Lake Country, British Columbia, Canada, with an estimated population of 1644. It was named after a Japanese general.

- Ōyama (大山), roughly translating to "big mountain," is the name of many mountains throughout Japan. Unfortunately for non-native speakers, the similar-sounding name oyama (小山), without the stressed "o", has the opposite meaning of "small mountain".
