Oyabun

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oyabun (親分?) is a Japanese word meaning "father figure" or "boss". It is traditionally used by yakuza members to describe their boss or Godfather.

Hachi, the sidekick of Heiji in the story and TV series Zenigata Heiji refers to Heiji as oyabun. The term is used often in the Playstion 2 video game Yakuza, in which the main character, Kazuma, often refers to the Dojima Family Lieutenant, Shintaro Fuma, as such.
