Oxford Development Company is a real estate firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania providing real estate development, construction management, property management, and leasing services. Under the same family ownership since its inception, Oxford has broadened its core businesses in recent years beyond the growth of its own portfolio to expand into related business areas. The company started to focus on its fee-for-service businesses, such as property management and disposition services, build-to-suit development services, and property leasing and brokerage services.
Oxford is considered one of the largest Pennsylvania-based real estate firms, having developed a portfolio of nearly 100 million square feet of commercial properties in various parts of the United States, including urban and suburban office buildings, retail centers, hotels, luxury resorts, distribution operations centers, luxury condominiums, high technology data centers, medical satellite facilities, health/fitness centers, apartment complexes, exhibition centers, government complexes, and airport retail facilities.
Founded by real estate visionary Eddie Lewis, Oxford is today led by President David Matter. With nearly 2,200 employees in its parent company and affiliate divisions, Oxford is a major contributor to Western Pennsylvania's business marketplace.
Affiliate companies include:
- Oxford Real Estate Advisors (OREA), an SEC certified institutional investment advisory firm that develops and acquires properties throughout the United States for public and private corporations, financial institutions, and government pensions through its co-mingled real estate fund, The Oxford Fund;
- GVA Oxford, an international commercial real estate brokerage firm representing a partnership between Oxford Realty and GVA Worldwide and the largest such firm in the Western Pennsylvania market;
- Central Property Services, a commercial cleaning company serving international airports, professional sports stadiums, office buildings, convention centers, and university campuses; and
- Bakewell Corporation, a parking facility investment and management company, whose portfolio consists of garages and surface lots in urban areas, primarily in Central Business District markets.
Oxford Development Company is the flagship tenant of the shimmering Pittsburgh skyscraper, One Oxford Centre, a property owned and developed by the company.
