Owen Garvan (born January 29, 1988 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer who plays for Ipswich Town in the Championship.

Garvan got a taste of the first team in the 2004/05 season, after being named as a substitute against Brighton. In the 2005/06 season he made his first team debut and went on to make 31 appearances. Now considered a key member of the Ipswich first team, he is very highly rated by staff and fans alike. He operates in the centre of the park and he has been dubbed the Steven Gerrard of the future. He is left footed and is regarded one of the best passers on the Ipswich Town side to many fans.

The crowd in the lower north stand of Portman Road also love to chant Owen Garvan Owen Garvan Owen Garvan Owen Garvan Owen Garvan.

Newspaper rumours linked Garvan with moves to Everton F.C and Charlton Athletic. If a valuation was appropriate he is worth approximately £1 million to Ipswich Town. Whilst being capped at various youth levels for Ireland, he still awaits a call to the senior Ireland squad, although it is reported that Sir Bobby Robson has watched him play on a couple of occasions and has been impressed by what he has seen.

Garvan was also an intellectual player for the youth side of Ipswich Town. He was used regularly in Town's Youth F.A Cup success in the season of 2004/05, but missed the decisive second leg of the final against Southampton due to injury. Garvans grandfather, Con Martin represented Ireland as did his uncle Mick Martin.
