Ovi magazine is a daily multi-lingual online magazine based in Helsinki and distributed online. Originally created as a monthly magazine in December 2004, it produced sixteen issues upon a wide variety of themes, such as sexuality, radio, racism, promises and copycats, plus every issue was available as a free PDF download, before going daily on September 4, 2006.

Ovi, means door in Finnish and is a social, political and culturally opinionated magazine in the sense that society, politics, culture and art meet each other in one way or another. It also features sport, reviews, columns, interviews and cartoons. Currently the magazine carries articles in Greek, Portuguese, Finnish, French and English.

Ovi targets all kinds of people, especially those who are politically and environmentally aware of the world in which they live. Each individual member of the Ovi magazine has his or her own ideas as long as they respect certain issues. The Ovi team consists of a variety of nationalities, ages, ethnic backgrounds, gender and education, which brings diversity to the daily content.

The Ovi magazine is against is any kind of racism and discrimination that has either to do with color, social class, sex or social issues. Each person is free to express its ideas and philosophy, as long as it doesn't cross these lines. Ovi believes in what Evelyn Beatrice Hall said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

The Ovi magazine is not reporting news, it analyzes news and events. It also offers readers the opportunity to comment on articles, initiate further discussion in the forum and submit unsolicited material.

In January 2007, Ovi magazine came second in Newropeans Magazine's Grands Prix 2006 awards. They were nominated as one of the three finalists in its 'Citizenship - Information' section. The awards reward people behind the democratisation of the EU. A registered jury of around 1,000 people voted online awarding Ovi magazine 29% of the vote.
