Ovada (Oâ, Uà, and Guà in Ligurian) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 km southeast of Turin and about 30 km south of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 11,673 and an area of 35.3 km².^[1]

The municipality of Ovada contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Costa, Gnocchetto, Grillano, and San Lorenzo.

Ovada borders the following municipalities: Belforte Monferrato, Cremolino, Molare, Rocca Grimalda, Rossiglione, Silvano d'Orba, Tagliolo Monferrato, and Trisobbio.
