Outpost is an upcoming project from, The Descent director and writer, Neil Marshall. Marshall doesn't expect the film to come to theaters until 2008.
[edit] Production
While it was announced that Marshall's attention would be focused on the zombie horror film, he tells Bloody-Disgusting.com, "Doomsday is first before Outpost, Outpost is kind of on the back burner for the moment, I was going to do Outpost first but then all these zombie films started popping up all over the place, so I don’t expect to get around to it until at least 2008." Marshall tells Timeout.com that after filming two horror films, Dog Soldiers and The Descent, he wants to take a break from the horror genre and doesn't, "want to get tired of doing horror films and doing three in a row would just be a bit too much."[1] He plans to direct films outside the horror genre and come back to this project at a later date.
[edit] Plot
Although plot details are unknown, Outpost is planned to be a zombie film set on an oil rig. Marshall also plans to evoke controversy with the film telling Bloody-Disgusting.com, "There will be some fantastic nudity in Outpost, I am devising a zombie sex scene that will be quite unique." [2]
