Out of Eden
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Out of Eden was a musical group identified with R&B, and with contemporary Christian music. Real-life sisters Lisa Kimmey, Andrea Kimmey-Baca and Danielle Kimmey makes up the soulful Christian trio. They were well-known for their God-filled energy onstage and their amiable attitudes towards their fans.
Out of Eden (along with labelmates Grits) is still considered as one of the cornerstones acts of Gotee Records. Their debut album, Lovin' the Day, was released in 1994, on Gotee Records.
The group was nominated for a 2006 Grammy award, as Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, for their album Hymns.
In June 2006, the group announced that they would disband after the release of their greatest hits album.
Many of Out of Eden songs can be found in the Christian video game Dance Praise. The songs "Greater Love", "Lookin' for Love", "Love, Peace, & Happiness", "Make Way", "More Than You Know", "Soldiers", and "Spirit Moves" are included with the game. The songs "Fairest Lord Jesus", "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise", "Praise to the Lord, The Almighty", and "Vision of Love" can be added to the game via the Dance Praise Expansion Pack Volume 1: Modern Worship. "Just the Way" can be added to the game via the Dance Praise Expansion Pack Volume 2: Hip-Hop/Rap.
One of the group's more popular songs include a cover of Bill Wither's hit "loveley day" which can be found on the groups debut, "Lovin the Day".
