OutSystems offers an agile software platform to build, change and operate enterprise applications that connect existing information systems to business users. Additionally the company provides a wide set of open applications [1] [2] that can be tailored to meet each company's specific needs.

[edit] History

OutSystems is a multinational software company created in March 2001.

The company closed a 1 million Euros round of seed funding in October 2001 with the Dutch Venture Capitalist firm NesBIC CTe FUND (Fortis Group) [3]. In February 2005 OutSystems closed a € 2.2 million Series B round of investment led by PME Investimentos [4].

Since its creation, OutSystems has been achieving yearly growths of around 100%, consistently expanding its international customer base [5].

In 2003, OutSystems was identified by Fortune Magazine as one of the 6 most promising startups [6]. Market analysts like Gartner, Butler and OVUM have identified OutSystems as an innovative software company [7].

In February 2006, OutSystems was positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the 2006 Integrated Service Environment (ISE) Market Magic Quadrant report. Out of the 18 companies included in the research, OutSystems was one of the only 3 European companies listed.

In March 2007, the company launched an early adopters, closed beta program for the OutSystems Express Edition, a free version of the OutSystems Platform.

OutSystems sells directly in the USA, UK, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal and has global partnerships with top technology firms to target other geographies.
