Our Lady of the Earth and Sky
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Our Lady of the Earth and Sky, also known as OLOTEAS, is a nondenominational Pagan church based in Seattle, Washington in the United States of America. Public rituals are held on the fourth Saturday of each month in nearby Redmond, Washington.
OLOTEAS was founded in 1995 and has offered classes and monthly public rituals since 1996.
OLOTEAS helped redefine the term "eclectic" within the context of NeoPaganism. Prior to OLOTEAS, "eclectic" generally implied a lack of formal initiation, training or lineage. OLOTEAS broke this mold at its conception. Founded by high-ranking initiates of traditional Wicca, Ordo Templi Orientis, Sean Ciall and Argau, subsequent pastors and staff have continued this tradition. In the years since its inception, to the aforementioned have been added high ranking initiates of Freemasonry, Golden Dawn, NeoDruidism, and other "traditional" forms of NeoPaganism. Each of these traditions helped shape OLOTEAS into a form of eclecticism which stressed scholarship, initiation, and high ritual standards to a degree which in many ways surpassed not only previous attempts at eclectic NeoPaganism, but also many of the traditional forms of NeoPaganism which comprised it.
