[edit] Copyright violations
Hi again Tim. One issue comes up already. Unfortunately, your article Great Hopewell Road as it stands right would appear to the casual reader to be a Copyright violation from this site. I see that it is your own, but you should put a note to that effect in the talk page of the article so that it wont just get deleted by some other administrator. Be aware also that your contributions to wikipedia are automatically licenced under the GFDL, and you might want to read up on this to make sure that this is OK for you. The Hopewell Road topic seems very interesting, but the thesis in the raw form is probably not acceptable, since there is a wikipedia policy against original research. However, elements of the story that have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals would be acceptable, and you could certainly include a link at the bottom of the article to your thesis research. I would encourage you to make the article self contained so that the reader the stumbles upon it finds sufficient context to make sense of the article without having clicked through to it from a related article. The first paragraph should be a summary. I hope this helps. Fawcett5 03:50, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Serpent_Mound.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Serpent_Mound.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 08:48, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
