Otterøy

Otterøy is a former municipality in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway.

It was created by a split from Fosnes on 1 January 1913. At that time Otterøy had a population of 1.631.

On 1 January 1964 the area south of the Namsenfjord (except for Hoddøy) with 571 inhabitants was incorporated into Namdalseid municipality. The rest of Otterøy, with 1.013 inhabitants, became a part of Namsos municipality.
