Otros Aires
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Recognized as the fist electronic-archaeological tango band, Otros Aires mixes the first tangos and milongas records from the beginning of the last century (Gardel, Razzano, D`arienzo, etc.) with electronic sequences, melodies and lyrics of the 21st century.
This is the main concept of the project, essentially audiovisual. Started in Barcelona by the Argentinean musician / architect Miguel Di Genova, Otros Aires entered to the Mediterranean scene with Toni Cubedo at the bass and Josep Lluis Guart at the piano, in a “Sound System” format.
Back in Buenos Aires, Otros Aires gets its final colour with the incorporation of the bandoneon player Hugo Satorre, Emmanuel Mayol in drums and Pablo Lasala in keyboards, creating its own sound inside the style know as electronic tango.
After playing in many places of the argentinean capital, on December 11th 2004, known as "Tango day", Otros Aires presented its first CD at the Carlos Gardel´s House Museum. Commemorating the famous singer birthday.
Nowadays the members of the band are Miguel Di Genova (voice, guitar and sequences), Emmanuel Mayol (drums and percusion), Omar Massa (bandoneon) and Diego Ramos (piano).
