OtherSpace

"Otherspace" is also in the Star Wars Expanded Universe an obscure third dimension, parallel the normal universe ("Realspace") and hyperspace; it is described as filled with lifeless planets and appearing "as a storm-gray expanse of nothing, with some small swirls of colored gases and stars that look like shining holes of darkness". It is inhabited solely by the remnants of the Charon and their biological warships, who seek only to exterminate all life, including themselves.
OtherSpace is the online saga created by former journalist Wes Platt. It began in 1998 and ran until 27 June 2004, covering 5 years of online story-telling. On 28 June 2004 OtherSpace: New Journeys opened. Under the new title, the game continues to build on the original fictional worlds and characters with renewed emphasis on its Story arcs.
The overall style of OtherSpace is Space opera, with dramatic elements figuring prominently in promotions of the game and in the game itself. Within this framework, players have created stories representing a diverse array of genres. The treatment of technology and culture in the game tends to lean towards Soft science fiction. OtherSpace advertises friendliness toward Newbies; however, some potential players find the quantity of In-character knowledge and differences from other online environments, such as MUDs, to be daunting.
