Otay Ranch High School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Otay Ranch High School (ORH) in Chula Vista, California, is a four-year high school established in 2003. ORHS is part of the Sweetwater Union High School District.
Otay Ranch High School primarily serves the Chula Vista developments of Otay Ranch and Rancho Del Rey. Chula Vista is a city just south of San Diego.
ORHS was a feeder school, or a school that was "fed" with students from other schools, to battle overcrowding in the other schools from the district. The late seniors of the high school (Class of 2006) have all come from different high schools, as opposed to those at other schools who have spent their whole high school career at one school. The school is also locally known for its Academy of Criminal Justice program. This special program is available for entering freshman to apply for. ORHS, however, is not a magnet school due to the exclusivity of this program as well as a lack of enrichment programs in other academic areas.
