OSLO is a computer program used to design and optimize optical systems. The name stands for "Optics Software for Layout and Optimization. OSLO is used primarily to determine the optimum sizes and shapes of the elements in optical systems in cameras, consumer products, communication systems, military/space applications, scientific instruments, etc. In addition, it is used to simulate the performance of optical systems, and to develop specialized software tools for optical design, testing, and manufacturing.
