Oscar del Calcio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oscar del Calcio are awards given by Associazione Italiana Calciatori (Italian for "Italian Association of Footballers") to the best footballers of Italian Serie A. The winners of the prizes are chosen by the same footballers.

The awards are gold plated statues that have the form of a footballer in the act of kicking, the same symbol of AIC.

The first edition has been celebrated in 1997 and the awards were the following:

From the edition of 2000, the award Best Defender (Miglior difensore) has been added to the event, while the prize Best Team has been pulled back.
