Oscar Vicente Scavone, born on July 2, 1955 in Asunción, Paraguay, is a successful Paraguayan businessman and, just recently, ended a two-year mandate as president of one of the nation's premier soccer teams, Club Olimpia. Club Olimpia was founded in 1902 by Dutchmen William Paats, and is extremely popular among the Paraguayans, having won three Copa Libertadores, as well as numerous national tournaments.

Scavone, son of Pascual Scavone, a pioneer in the Paraguayan pharmaceutical industry, served as Vice-President of Club Olimpia in the early 1990s, during the Presidency of former president Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb. Scavone is a third-generation Olimpia president in the family, following the footsteps of his father and grandfather. He resides in Asuncion, where he runs highly developed pharmaceutical companies that export to the Mercosur and other countries in Latin America. Among these is Laboratorios LASCA [1] , founded in 1935 and the country's leading pharmaceutical company.
