Oscar Ornelas

Oscar Ornelas Küchle . He was a lawyer and Mexican politician, member of Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), and governor of Chihuahua from 1980 to 1985. Oscar Ornelas was also Magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Director of the Faculty of Right and Director of Independent University of Chihuahua (UACh). In 1973, he was elected as the mayor of the city of Chihuahua. In 1980, he was elected to be the Governor of Chihuahua. In 1985, a conflict in the election of the Director of the Independent University of Chihuahua degenerated in a political confrontation that occurred in which led to his downfall in re-election for governor. The following year, one of the main opponents to him, was Fidel Velázquez Sánchez. Although, Oscar Ornelas lost the support of his party and was forced to resign to the state government in September 19 of 1985.
