Oscar (Irish mythology)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oscar(oscara = Deerlover) in Irish mythology was the warrior son of Oisín and a fairy woman called Niamh, who also bore his sister, Plor na mBan. Oisín, in turn, was the son of the epic hero Fionn mac Cumhail. (Finn Mac Cool).

Oscar was mortally wounded at the Battle of Gabhra, but his father did not know of his passing, and searched for his son centuries on.
