The City of Osage City is has a Mayor-Council-Manager form of government. The Osage City Council meets twice a month in the Council Chambers at Fifth and Lord Streets. They meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 7:00 pm. Osage City is governed by the Mayor/Council/City Manager form of government. The Mayor serves a two-year term. There are two representatives to the Council from each of the four wards in Osage City. Each council member serves a four-year term with staggered elections every two years.
The Mayor and Council Members are as follows by wards:
The Mayor: J. Patrick Lawless Jr.
First Ward: Quintin Robert, Chad Wilkins
Second Ward: Loren DeBaun, Gary Griffith
Third Ward: Edwin Mueller, William Curtis
Fourth Ward: Steve Haller, Becky Brewer
Under the Mayor-Council-Manager form of government, the City Manager serves the chief administrative officer of the City. The City Manager is directly responsible for the daily operations of the entire municipal organization and hires department heads to aid in this function.
Currently, the City of Osage City is organized into five departments, with the City Manager serving as the Administration & Finance Department’s Director.
