Ortygia

Ortygia is an island in Siracusa, Sicily. The island is also known as Città Vecchia (Old City), it contains many of the Historical Landmarks of Siracusa.

Leto could not have her children where she was so she went to the island Ortygia, and there she had one of her twins Artemis who was born first. Artemis then helped her across the ocean to the island of Delos, where Leto delivered Apollo.
