Ormindo

Ormindo (L'Ormindo) is an opera in two acts by Francesco Cavalli to an original Italian libretto by Giovanni Faustini. First performance: Teatro San Cassiano, Venice, 1676.

The opera has set numbers with recitative, and is set in the city of Fez in North Africa during an unspecified time.

Ormindo is not part of the standard operatic repertory. It is rarely performed. The most recent performance was by the Pittsburgh Opera in February, 2007.
