[edit] Endurance - Vanetta's removal

Greetings! I see you added some great extra material to the article on Endurance. I notice you mention that Vanetta was removed from the game during Season Three. What happened upon her removal? Did Tom have to withdraw, or was he able to get a replacement partner? That's something unusual enough that I'd like to know the outcome of. Thanks! C.Fred 00:43, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gisborne categories

This is to inform you that I have placed several categories created by you up for deletion. These are all categories in the form "List of XXX in/from Gisborne". These we placed for deletion because the Category space is not the place for lists such as these. These lists should be articles, not categories. So they have been placed for deletion with the recommendation that all be first Listified, or converted into more proper Wiki lists before deletion. So I'm not trying to have any of your content removed, just to have it converted to the standard format for such content. - TexasAndroid 16:33, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

In one way, *you* cannot do the change-over yourself. The Category side of things. In the other, the article side, you can. For the category side of things, I've already set the wheels in motion by listing the three categories for deletion. Assuming there are no objections, in a week, they'll be deleted. For the listify and article side, you can actually go ahead and do that. Basically you need to take the contents of the categories and create identicle articles. It's as simple as that. The the articles will live when the categories are deleted. - TexasAndroid 14:16, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Buzzgame.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Buzzgame.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

[edit] Gisborne articles

Hey, good work on the Gisborne article and related lists. I'm assuming that you've compiled these lists yourself from several sources and not just pulled them off a website somewhere - that would be a copyright infringement. Whenever you create an article, please try to put some category on it - for most Gisborne articles, that would be Category:Bay of Plenty-East Coast. For people, use Category:New Zealand people or one of its subcategories such as Category:New Zealand politicians. You might like to add your new articles to the page Wikipedia:New articles (New Zealand) as well. This allows other people to find the new articles more readily, and will pretty much guarantee some more experienced Wikipedian will take at least a quick look at your article and maybe be able to improve it.

I admire the energy you're putting into Wikipedia.-gadfium 18:07, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Clarke Gayford

Can you add some references to Clarke Gayford? Some of the material in the article may be actionable (I am not a lawyer, so I can't be sure), but if we're just repeating stuff in our own words that has already appeared on the internet or in print then we're probably okay. I've done a few corrections to the article and it needs a bit more cleanup, but that will happen as people see it on the New articles list.

I've created the category Category:People from Gisborne for you. Would this be better named Category:Gisbornites?-gadfium 01:19, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Comics

Before our conversation wanders completely off-topic, just wondering what you think of some of the current storylines? What do you think of Civil War/Decimation/etc.? Is Marvel Zombies not the creepiest thing ever? -Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 10:42, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah I noticed that we could've taken the talk page of Omega-Levels to an extreme level there before someone edited the entire thing out. Anyways, Civil War looks interesting enough, though if Squirrel Girl does transcend into a Galacti-Squirrel, my God I'm there. That's something I just have to see.

Let's see, addressing a few different comments. I'm not happy with how Decimation has treated Archangel either. It's very confusing, and I'll be angry if they don't tie up all the loose ends. As for the number of mutants, that's always been up for great debate. I think that there's quite a lot of them, but an unknown number. I think that it's probably a corrolary with Piers Anthony's Xanth series (where everybody has "talents", even if some of those talents are as bland as being able to make a temporary coloured spot on the wall), in that there may be a great many talents that may remain undiscovered among the general populace. Killing off the depowered characters was strange to me, too. It looks more like some crazy status quo thing, that Quesada doesn't like seeing too many new characters appear at once. About returning back to normal? Well, you know what they say about comic book deaths..
The Illuminati appears to be part of the storyline, but I'm not really sure to what extent.
As for Marvel Zombies...has it occurred to anyone else, that since the characters are all in old uniforms, etc, that the writers and artists are all basicly (subconsciously?) killing off the world of comics they grew up with?
Is the Illuminati part of the Civil War storyline do you know? Granted I've only been reading the Exiles World Tour of late.
It's usually best to reply to messages on the person's talk page who left them. That way they see the messages notice, and will reply quicker. -Tim Rhymeless (Er...let's shimmy) 22:17, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] about Sha Lala Lala

Isn't there a beetle song, or a song from that era which even the beetle's sang, with the same name? Although it might be called 'Baby it's you'.

--hydkat 10:20, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

lol. Dude - about being too young- ur a year older than me! so what would that make me?! And I bet your grandmom has never used wikipedia, if so, no worries of you EVER getting into trouble :)

--hydkat 11:02, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A suggestion

I see that you've been creating articles on hit songs from a few years ago. When you write what each song is, don't put the in front of people and groups which don't use that name, like "the Toni Braxton" or "the TLC". Just a suggestion for future articles. ErikNY 16:04, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are you retarded?

That's a serious question. I just kind of wondered, based on your edit of and comments on the Eternals article. I think it's admirable how you've managed to overcome an obvious learning disability, and are able to communicate at a level that probably makes most people think you might be normal. Congratulations.

Like the lists you are doing, good work. A lot of NZers keep an eye on Wikipedia:New articles (New Zealand) so you might want to announce when you do new articles there so the rest of us can help (I've just added a bunch you already did). Also there is a music section in the articles 2005 in New Zealand (and all the other years from 1950 onwards) that you might want to link to/from. - SimonLyall 06:01, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Home and Away page recreations

You seem to be recreating pages for Home and Away characters that were deleted per an AfD debate. Such content is eligible for speedy deletion, and I doubt you'll find any editor who agrees with you marking these changes as minor. If you can't explain this, I'm going to nominate all these re-created and new character pages for deletion. --User:Kchase02 (T, C, e) 23:09, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey. How are you
Well that' enough small talk.
You seem to be recreating pages for Home and Away characters that were deleted per an AfD debate.
  • With that, I didn't realise there was that Afd Debate. It's amazing what you learn. Anyway, if I did know I wouldn't have started what I did. The main reason was that I felt that the main cast (former and current) needed their own history. I was naively hoping someone would extend what I started because judging by the amount of people who watch the show and come on here the histories would have extended. That and well if some "dumb" programmes have individual character pages then why not H&A.
Such content is eligible for speedy deletion, and I doubt you'll find any editor who agrees with you marking these changes as minor.
  • My bad. My profile keeps the minor edit ticked and sometime when I "untick" it it still gets ticked so I basically 1) gave up caring about the tickbox and 2) forget to untick it when I start a new page.
Need to know anything else?
D-Man

Need to know anything else? No, I don't. Why don't you merge the pages into the H&A article and change the old pages to redirects. --Kchase02 (T, C, e) 05:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Also, you might have a look at WP:Fict, especially instruction one. Creating articles for minor characters in H&A or Shortland Street makes it difficult to learn about the show without going through twenty wikipedia pages. I'll create a character page for Shortland Street. --Kchase02 (T, C, e) 05:03, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Infobox Celebrity

An edit of today messed the Infobox Celebrity template up resulting in quite funcky pages that included the template. Reverting to the old version of Ed Poor resolved the issue. There were three edits, and I do not know which one caused the problem, so I appologize for overwriting the other edits that did no harm. I have tried to find the error, but I do not want to experiment to much with the code and should probably do that with a test page and test include page, but it has insufficient priority for me to do that. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 03:19, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edie Britt

I've split the page. It wouldn't surprise me if Edie Britt (spiritual adviser) wasn't AFD'd very quickly, though. If it is and the page is repeatedly re-created, then there's a case for banning the user, but at the moment that option would be pretty harsh. There is a good case for userfying the information, though. Grutness...wha? 02:04, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] succession boxes

Hey Originalsinner! I noticed you've been putting the NZ #1 succession boxes in singles articles (I did most of the ones for the U.S. chart). Anyhoo... was wondering if you would reconsider formatting the boxes for that sticky situation in which a song drops from #1 and then returns later. I wasn't sure at first if two boxes should be used (such as what you did for "No Scrubs") but in the interest in keeping things from getting too cluttered (it looks like boxes are being added for UK #1s as well), I and some other editors thought it best to keep the preceeding/succeeding titles arranged in a way for readers to just flow from one page to the next without all that circular linkage. Think of it kinda like pages in a book where each page has a new song on it. Not sure if you'd agree with this but just thought I'd bring it to your attention. See ya! -- eo 16:59, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fake Xavier Staff

I have looked through my collection, including Uncanny X-Men 428, and there is no mention of a Hannah or Sanji. There is a cook Marilyn in X-Men 164 which I added. If you actually read the books you might remember that 428 doesn't even take place at the institute as it is almost entirely a flashback leading up to Azazel storyline.--Wakefencer 02:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah that's weird...In both books there are cooks with multiple arms, in one she's Hannah, in the other Marilyn. I hate it when the writers of the books can't even coordinate enough to make sure the they're on the same page about who is alive or dead or even get names to match up, sigh.--Wakefencer 02:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Thed4-sakebomb.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Thed4-sakebomb.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Please don't kill the Golden Age.

I like the Golden Age categories. Please don't cause other people to delete those categories. They cannot include retconned characters because there is too much room for argument. Magneto was a kid during World War II. Uncle Ben fought in the war. But they're Silver Age characters because they were introduced during the Silver Age. It's about when they were published, not when the stories were set. Plenty of Golden Age stories were set in the far future or distant past. Doczilla 04:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Lost EP

Please sop changing the redlink to this Chills EP. its official name was "The Lost EP", this due to the fact that - for a while at least - it was lost. To call it "The Lost (EP)" is akin to referring to a certain Beatles album as "The White (album)". Grutness...wha? 22:48, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

OK - sorry. Must've been someone else who changed it before (I should have checked). I've written a small stub on the EP now, so hopefully it won't happen again now that it's a blue-link. I'll try to scan what other covers I have to fill the infoboxes out in the next day or so. Grutness...wha? 23:17, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
Glad you approve ;) It is starting to look pretty reasonable. I'm hoping to add a bit more info to the album pages if and when I get time (one advantage of being peripherally involved in the Dunedin music scene, I've got quite a bit of info about bands like the Chills readily available). I don't know if you were aware, but I wanted to bring your attention to the discussion about guidelines for navboxes (like the ones you created) should be, and is the reason the deletion call is in the process of being halted. There is no need to take a tone with me. I patrol new pages and conduct a form of triage. When I know something, I add it. When I don't, I add the appropriate template so at least it doesn't get lost. It's not a hostile act to point out when citation is necessary. Erechtheus 19:03, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Understood about the morning thing. No offense taken. Wikidrama is the last thing I want to cause, though it does just seem inevitable sometimes -- I just got through dealing with the crazed fanbase of the Saw film series who are very excited about starting articles about films that don't exist. I'd suggest that sources are important, but they're not a huge deal. I have no reason to believe these are fictional albums. Encyclopedias are about sourced statements, though. If you ask me, the best source for an album article is probably a professional review. You're right that there are thousands (I think it's actually hundreds of thousands) of articles that need sources, but you have to start somewhere. Erechtheus 19:23, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
It's really okay even if it takes a little while for somebody to source them. As far as I can tell, we have the sources template because unsourced information is better than nothing. You created the article for thsoe who want information. Those who want sourced information will just have to wait or maybe do the work themselves. Good luck in your editing. [edit] No personal attacks

Your post on the Fangu AFD page wasn't needed at all. Accusing me of stalking? Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. [edit] Copyright violations

(See Wikipedia:Administrator's noticeboard/Incidents#Ongoing copyvios from www.marvunapp.com.)

Hey -- marvunapp.com has recently written to Wikipedia to complain about copyright violations in some of our articles, specifically Captain Albion and Captain Airstrip-One. I checked it out and in both cases, those copyright violations stemmed from you. This all happened a while ago, so I apologize in advance if you've already learned about this but we have to avoid stealing the text of other websites for use in our articles. The fact that we've gotten a complaint from marvunapp.com means that we have to take this particular case seriously. Since you were the one who did this, I'm concerned there may be more, but you have so many edits, it's impossible for me to look through them all. Are there any other articles in which you copied text from marvunapp.com? Please leave me a response on my talk page as soon as you get this message. Mangojuicetalk 18:18, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

I've blocked you. I'm sorry, I don't intend to punish you for something you did 9 months ago, but we really need your response to this. Once you answer this concern, you can be unblocked. Mangojuicetalk 20:01, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
How the hell is blocking me logical when I can't bloody respond unless in my own page which is logically stupid. Anyways from what I can remember, and yes I did bloody realise, the only ones left are Captain Airstrip-One, Captain Albion and possibly Akhenaten (comics). I'm not sure about Captain Granbretan and Captain Britain (Earth-98125) and Adrenazon have been changed while Sir James Braddock has been deleted.

Now bloody unblock me before I get fucked off.

I had your page on watchlist, or you could have emailed me. In any case, I've unblocked you now. I'll take a look at those articles. Mangojuicetalk 00:11, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
How am I suppose to email you when I can't edit and where is your email address located?!

{{unblock|I have supposedly been unblocked which is obviously not the case. Ref: [[User:Mangojuice]]}}

You were autoblocked, which the blocking administrator has no control over. I believe I've disabled the autoblock in question; if you still have trouble editing, throw down another template. Thanks for your patience. Luna Santin 02:27, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

You've been reblocked indefinitely. Ral315 (talk) 03:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) asked to be unblocked, but an administrator or other user has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators or users can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request nor add another unblock request.

Request reason: "OK I don't know how to appeal and I want to since I'm getting blocked for something I did 10 months ago when I first came on board this site and also for 6 things which I was going to change since I know what I'm doing."

Decline reason: "I'm declining this since you haven't responded to Chris Griswold, and I'm trying to empty out ongoing requests for unblocking. Feel free to put up a new request in which you respond to him, and of course feel free to email any administrator. Mangojuicetalk 04:32, 18 October 2006 (UTC)"

This template should be removed when the block has expired, or after 2 days in the case of blocks of 1 week or longer.
Explain the situation to me in your words. I've tried to read the recent complaint but didn't understand what exactly was going on. --Chris Griswold () 09:11, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
This block is also being discussed at Wikipedia:Administrator's noticeboard/Incidents#Ongoing copyvios from www.marvunapp.com, where Originalsinner left a further comment. Mangojuicetalk 13:57, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Ricogear.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ricogear.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Muchness 07:09, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dontcallmebabyalt.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dontcallmebabyalt.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Brookefraser-savingtheworld.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Brookefraser-savingtheworld.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too.
