[edit] Spoken article quality assessment
Version reviewed: 23:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Technical quality: High
This recording is a fine example of the high voice audio quality and small file size achievable when the audio is encoded at 48 kb/s in accordance with the recording guidelines.
Clarity: High
Accuracy: High
- Some inconsistencies in the way sub-section headings are read out.
Variations from the text which alter the meaning:
- Section History/Early Modern: minor enunciation problem in "the Dean of Christ Church, John Fell".
- Section Buildings and environs/Hall: "The portico was completely rebuilt in 1897" read as "The portico was completely built in 1897".
- Section Buildings and environs/Chapel: "During the late 1980s, the chapel was extensively restored" read as "During the 1980s, the chapel was extensively restored".
- Section Buildings and environs/Island site/O'Brien quadrangle: "It comprised a hall and chambers leased to scholars" read as " It compromised a hall and chambers leased to scholars".
- "In this house, the Rt. Hon Cecil John Rhodes" - "Rt. Hon" spoken as "retired honourable", should be right honourable.
Help with recording issues can be obtained under "Recording assistance" here.
Information on the assessment procedure can be found on the spoken article assessment page.

[edit] Pronunciation comment
While I hate to mention it for what is generally a very clearly read out article, the normal pronunciation of "Oriel" is with the stress on the first syllable, not the third as in the current reading. This is quite distracting to a listener who is familiar with the normal pronunciation and misleading for those who do not know the college. Sorry... GDallimore (Talk) 11:35, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I looked everywhere for the proper pronunciation, and could not find it, so finally assumed that it was pronounced the same as the architectural term. Next time I record an article about something in Brittan, I'll make sure to ask about the pronunciation first. :) CB Droege 03:06, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
