Talk:Order of the Companions of Honour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I dont think the link to "list of people who have declined a British honour" is appropriate for this article, in Britain people tend to refuse honours that are givin by the goverment of the day like OBE, MBE and the like, but the Companion of Honour is givin by the monarch without ministerial advice and people like Harold Pinter and Paul Scofield who refuse goverment awards have taken the CH. Also the link to "list of people who have declined a British honour" is not included in the OM, KG, KT articles but it is in the CH. Here is a link to a BBC report about Pinter being awarded with the CH, Pinter given royal honour
The upshot of all this is that I have taken the link out. Stevenscollege 8/7/05
Im wondering if we need the links mentioned under the "See Also" heading, that are also mentioned in the "Table of the British honours system" box, I dont think we need two seperate links to the same page. Stevenscollege 10/7/05
