The Optare Delta is a single-decker bus body produced for the DAF SB220 chassis.

It featured a dramatic front windscreen which developed from the windcreen on the CityPacer. The design of the Delta was continued in a less dramatic form onto the Sigma.

The Delta sold well during its lifetime but production of the Delta ceased in 1999.

A large number of Optare Deltas are still in use with bus operating companies in the UK, most widely used by Arriva. They are found in high numbers with Arriva North East, with the Darlington and Bishop depot having around 18 between them.

With companies like Arriva the Optare Delta was a direct replacement for the aging Leyland National fleet.
