Ophidiella

Ophidiella is a defunct subgenus of the genus Plasmodium. The subgenus was created in 1966 by Garnham. [1].

It was created as a subgenus for the then only known species infecting snakes - Plasmodium wenyoni but is currently (2007)not in use. It may come back into use once the taxonomy of this genus is clarified.
