Openwave (formerly software.com, phone.com, Unwired Planet and Libris, Inc) is a mobile phone and messaging software and services company based in California, USA.

Their mobile browser software has shipped on over one billion handsets, approx 49% of the global browser-capable device shipments, over 70 mobile operators.

Openwave pioneered HDML, a precursor to WML. They were a member of the WAP Forum, the precursor to the Open Mobile Alliance.
