[edit] Plot

[edit] Intro

After the usual opening sequence of the camera panning the outside of the playhouse, Pee-wee finally gets to the playhouse, as always, but notices that things are not the same. The playhouse is a complete mess and the furniture is covered up. Finally Pee-wee realizes that he was in the process of redecorating the playhouse. The theme song doesn't even play fully.

[edit] Sun Tea

While redecorating the playhouse, Miss Yvonne finds a tea set. This gives Pee-Wee the idea to have a tea party after the redecorating is over. He then decides to show the children at home how to make sun tea. Mr. Kite exclaims that the day is a perfect sunny day, perfect for making sun tea.

[edit] Floory

Cowboy Curtis and Ricardo, meanwhile, just finished vacuuming the floor. They go over to where Pee-wee's teepee is (in his bedroom) and remove the sheet. Ricardo and Curtis are amazed when part of the part of the floor rises up. Pee-wee goes over to where Curtis and Ricardo are and asks who the new face is. Its name is Floory. They greet him and he greets back. Pee-wee asks how long he's been here. Floory says he been there forever and was underneath the teepee the whole time, so no one ever noticed. Pee-wee then says he'll keep his teepee somewhere else so that Floory can be with the group. Pee-wee comments on how one never knows when they will meet a new friend. "Sure does make ya think," Curtis comments. He then grins.

[edit] The King of Cartoons

the king of cartoons is rolling something into the playhouse.the king says he and his wife are redecorating the palace.pee-wee says he's been redecorating the playhouse.the king was well aware of this,so he brought something he thought pee-wee might enjoy.it's a tv.pee-wee is not impressed,so the king pulls out a remote and shows him the uniqueness of this particular tv.this tv serves the same purpose as the film projector from the first season.

[edit] Final Touches

The gang removes sheets covering parts of the playhouse. The scooter garage had changed from green tiles and an ironing board to a big blue wall with a statue remote, the ant farm, and trophies for things that Pee-Wee never mentioned.

[edit] Trivia

  • This is the first episode shot at the Hollywood Center Studios in California. This is why in the episode Pee-wee is renovating the playhouse because when they got to the new studio, they had more room so then they could change things around with all the new room they had (in contrast to the first season's New York City studio, which was rather small and congested).
    • Dixie is, unfortunately, gone. Her role in summoning the King of Cartoons is replaced by the three Flowers on the windowsill.
  • When the episode starts, Globey appears cleaning the kitchen floor. His base had changed from gold to black and he seemingly got a facelift.
  • This episode marks the first appearances of Ricardo, Mrs. Renee, Billy Balogna, Floory and Clocky.
  • The scene showing Pee-wee and Miss Yvonne making the sun tea was cut from the 1996 VHS releases and TV airings on Fox Family. It was later restored for DVD (with a warning about the dangers of bacteria in sun tea playing before the episode) and airings on Adult Swim.
  • Featured cartoon: The Little Broadcast (1943).
  • From the second season onward, Magic Screen sounds exactly like it did in Ice Cream Soup.
  • Reba's motto, "Deliver the letter. The sooner the better," is actually a lyric in the song, Please Mr. Postman by the Marvelettes.
  • curiously, the new size of the playhouse is never explained.
