[edit] Career

McNeely started his career with NWA Wildside, where he has won the NWA Georgia Junior Heavyweight title, the NWA Wildside TV title, and the NWA Wildside Heavyweight title three times. He was the final Wildside Heavyweight champion when they closed down in 2005.

In 2004, Onyx was brought in by TNA as a member of the Elite Guard with Hernandez and Chad Collyer. They were brought in to help Jeff Jarrett in his feud against the 3Live Kru. The faction only lasted only two months. Throughout 2006, Onyx wrestled in Deep South Wrestling, a developmental territory of World Wrestling Entertainment, though McNeely wrestled without a WWE contract. He wrestled mostly as a jobber, someone who intentionally loses a match.

In October 2006, Combat Zone Wrestling held a tournament for the vacant CZW World Tag Team Championship. The team of Onyx and Rainman made their CZW debuts in this tournament under their team name of Blackout. They did not win the tournament, but they did start a feud with CZW's BLK OUT stable, who Onyx and Rainman accused of ruining the Blackout name. At Cage of Death 8, Onyx and Rainman defeated Sabian and Robbie Merino for the tag team championship.
